Biography
Gareth studied at the University of California at Berkeley and played on
the golf team from 1995 to 1997. In 1999 he won the Midland Open amateur
Championship and in 2000 the Eastern Province Championship in South Africa.
After turning professional in 2001, Gareth played on both
the Europro and Tamsel Tours and then graduated to the European Challenge
Tour in 2004 and recorded his first victory that year in the Sharm el-
Sheikh Tournament in Egypt.
2005 brought his second Challenge Tour win at the Galeria
Kaufhof Pokal Challenge in Germany – and another significant step towards
his goal of playing on the European Tour.
